Ana-Rosa Broster

I was fortunate to attend a school that actively encouraged STEM subjects at A-Level. I went on to achieve a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering, Management, and Spanish at the University of Nottingham, followed by a postgraduate MSc in Technology Management at the University of Surrey.

My career began at Nottingham City Council, as an administrative assistant. A few months later, I became the IT Team Leader of the Youth Offending Team, managing a small team and providing solutions to track technology issues. This gave me an opportunity to develop my leadership and problem-solving skills. An exciting opportunity arose to move to Spain. We stayed for six years, during which I worked as a system analyst for Accenture. In this role, I contributed to a large project for a pharmaceutical company, working on a large data migration project across 40 countries. Over the last 10 years, I have worked to support the continued evolvement of payments services in Virgin Media O2, focusing on improving the customer experience and balancing compliance requirements. I have led and been integral to numerous projects: Future-proofing my products through large transformation projects, a checker giving O2 customers more information on charges on their bill, enhanced payment flows, listening to customers feedback and implementing changes to payment flows that reduced complaints significantly and led a cross-network project to combat phishing by SMS. In this last year I have also become co-chair of the Women’s Network helping to support and champion women and allies in our business.
