Krsna is a Junior Doctor and Honorary Clinical Research Fellow working in London, with a background in Biomedical Engineering and experience in Healthcare Consulting at McKinsey & Company.
Krsna has shown excellent commitment to improving the experience of vulnerable populations and giving back to her community. As an Honorary Clinical Fellow, she designed and implemented the first mental health pathway for asylum-seeking children at the Imperial NHS Trust and is now working on improving the management of homeless patients attending A&E. She is also a Group Tutor for medical students on the Global Health iBSc course at Imperial College London.
At University, Krsna founded the Leadership in Medicine society, giving BAME, women and front-line leaders in healthcare a national platform to share their stories. She is a huge advocate of increasing access to opportunities, and has been invited to speak to aspiring students from disadvantaged backgrounds with IntoUniversity, as well as to schoolgirls about being a woman in STEMM. She has also been a Content Writer for the ‘Education Projects’ platform to widen access to Medicine. Finally, she has been a staff member for the London International Youth Science Forum since 2016, a UNESCO patronaged programme, bringing 500 students from 70 countries together to celebrate science and diversity.
Outside of work, Krsna is a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum, focused on leading social impact projects to improve financial literacy for youth in London. In her spare time, she writes poetry and teaches Bollywood dancing to her local communities.
Abigail Otchere | Medical communications manager | Excerpta Medica
Dr Abigail Otchere is a medical communications manager in a global med comms agency.
She studied BSc Biomedical Science, graduating in 2013 and holds a MSc in neuroscience from Kings College, London. After working in the clinical trials sector for almost 2 years, Abigail went on to complete her PhD in biomedical science, specialising in ageing research, at Aston university.
Since 2021, Abigail transitioned from research to medical communications, educating health care professionals on new drug treatments for a range of therapeutic areas including non-small cell lung cancer and acute myeloid leukaemia. She uses her creativity, her science expertise, her attention to detail and ultimately the words she writes to help doctors to make more informed decisions.
Abigail is also the co-founder of SiSTEM, an initiative which aims to connect and support women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Together with her sister (Donna Otchere, co-founder) she dedicates her time to improving the retention and the uptake of women in STEM by inspiring early years to working professionals and changing the narrative on STEM.
She is passionate about increasing black female representation in STEM and closing the gender and race gap in the STEM field. She wants to use her platform and her story to inspire the next generation and wants to see more black women and those from low socio-economic backgrounds in senior roles and positions of leadership. Her story of SiSTEM, highlighting the importance of sisterhood has been previously featured in the award-wining E&T (Engineering & technology) magazine.
Venus Madden | Clinical Fellow to Chief Allied Health Professions Officer | NHS England
I am a registered Occupational Therapist.
I have extensive clinical, operational and strategic experience in physical and mental health services, particularly in forensic settings. I am skilled in providing constructive challenges and engaging patients to drive quality improvement.
In 2021 whilst homeschooling and holding down two part time jobs, I completed my MBA (senior leader apprenticeship) specialising in strategic and transformational changes. Two key projects I have completed during the MBA: 1) implementation of Accessible Information Standard (AIS), improving compliance level from 0.03% to 13.5% within 6 months Trust wide; 2) implementation of a new strategy regarding ward jobs in a high secure hospital, narrowing the disparities for patients with different mental health status.
I am currently the Chair of the Race Equality Network at an integrated Trust. I lead and bring impartiality and objectivity to meetings, driving the EDI ambitions and changing them into actions.
I regularly speak at regional/national conferences. I am a guest lecturer at an University delivering lectures on mental health and leadership. I am about to start serving my third term of office as a public governor at a local foundation Trust. I applied for the role after having difficult in accessing mental health service as a lived experience individual. I now work as a 'critical friend' to the Trust supporting them to make meaningful changes to the public.
Being an individual with a BAME background, I am passionate about making a positive difference and representation to the lives of our BAME people.
Patrice Baptiste | Portfolio GP | The NHS
Dr. Baptiste is an award winning portfolio GP, medical educator, entrepreneur, writer, author, visionary and champion for diversity within the medical profession.
As a portfolio GP Dr. Baptiste spends the majority of her time in clinical practice with the remainder of her time divided between a number of other careers and interests. Some of her roles have included Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) examiner and GP Tutor at Queen Mary University London (QMUL), registered General Medical Council (GMC) examiner, Masters programme lead and senior clinical lecturer at The College of Medicine and Dentistry and reporting doctor at The London Medical Laboratory.
Dr. Baptiste founded DreamSmartTutors, (a medical careers organisation) through which she supported prospective medical students on their journeys to medical school whilst simultaneously aiming to increase diversity within the medical profession. Dr. Baptiste now focuses primarily on supporting medical students and early career doctors navigate and excel in their medical careers through the platform Medschool Xtra TM (www.medschoolxtra.co.uk) and her YouTube channel.
For the above contributions Dr. Baptiste was a finalist at the Black British Business and Precious Awards 2016. She was also the winner of the LIFT Effects Rising Star award and a finalist at the WeAreTheCity Awards and the UK's largest National Diversity Awards during 2017. Dr. Baptiste was nominated and recognised for her work during the 2018 Discover General Practice Champion Awards.
Dr. Baptiste is also a keynote speaker, writer for GP Online and is currently writing a book with Scion Publishing about portfolio careers.
Nuthana Prathivadi Bhayankaram | Paediatric doctor | NHS
Nuthana is the first person in her family to have studied medicine, and has been conscious of helping others in their careers since she was a medical student.
Nuthana is a training in paediatrics and is passionate about educating and empowering children and their families to live healthy lives.
Following her interest in supporting other medical women, Nuthana has been elected to the Council of the Medical Women's Federation (MWF) , the largest body of women doctors, since 2018. In 2021, she was elected Vice President, the first trainee doctor to be elected to the role. She has just been re-elected for a second term.
Nuthana had the initiative to start the world's first podcast aimed at supporting and empowering medical women in their careers, The Medical Women Podcast. So far Nuthana has hosted and produced over 50 episodes with over 6,500 listens in over 50 countries. She is currently busy planning Season 4 of the podcast. Feedback on the podcast has been that it has supported those returning to work after a break, de-stigmatises doctor's mental health, has helped medical students transition to being doctors. Nuthana does all of this work on the podcast in her own time, whilst working on busy clinical rotas.
Nuthana lifts as she climbs by mentoring and supporting junior medical women to organise local networking events and chairing sessions at MWF conferences.
Feedback from colleagues has been that she always looks after and values any team she is part of.
Maria Ahmad | Foundation Year 1 (FY1) Doctor | NHS
Making a difference and striving to be better every day.
These are the principles by which I aim to live my life; whether teaching medical students, empowering patients, or galvanising healthcare colleagues.
My name is Maria and I am an NHS Foundation Year 1 (FY1) junior doctor. I completed my medical degree with distinction, and my intercalated degree in Pre-Hospital Medicine, at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating in 2022. I am passionate about medical education and medical leadership, and strive to share my knowledge, empower and inspire others.
I have taught children, school students, medical students, healthcare professionals, the public, and corporate clients, topics ranging from medical school applications to basic life support to public health messages. I have led a number of these sessions and teams, often on a voluntary basis, to achieve these goals. I am honoured that my contribution to medical education was recognised by the international Zeshan Qureshi Award for Outstanding Achievement in Medical Education.
I believe that anyone, no matter their position in an organisation, can be a leader. I am currently co-authoring a book with authors internationally, focusing on leadership concepts and their practical application in healthcare for medical students and junior doctors. We hope that our book and associated teaching sessions for students across the globe will help to change medical school curricula, which currently have little, if any, focus on leadership, despite it being a crucial part of our roles as medical students and junior doctors.

I am a NHS and Private GP and an advanced medical aesthetics practitioner based in Kent and London.
In my current role as a GP, I have a special interest in mental health and women’s health and have obtained the DRCOG qualification and also hold a BSc in Psychology from King’s College University.
I established Dr Hammond Aesthetics in 2018. I specialise in high-quality non-surgical procedures. I offer a full range of rejuvenating medical-grade cosmetic treatments, ranging from anti-wrinkle injections and skin peels to facial contouring using dermal fillers, to restore and maintain healthy, youthful and beautiful skin in patients of all skin types and tones.
Alongside my medical career and other ventures, I am a mental health and women’s health advocate and educator. I am passionate about effecting positive change in healthcare on a global scale. I have completed an internship at the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland within the Mental Health Policy and Service Development Department. I contributed to the WHO Quality Rights Project, which aimed to transform practices in mental health services and human rights globally and empowered stakeholders to improve the quality of life of people with psychosocial, intellectual and cognitive disabilities.
I was selected as a UN Women UK Delegate for the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. This is the largest annual gathering on women’s rights and the empowerment of all women, and is instrumental in shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women.
Dr Joyce Omatseye | Medical Doctor | NHS England
Dr Joyce Omatseye is a medical doctor working in the United Kingdom with a first-class degree in Health Management from Imperial Business School.
Dr Omatseye worked during the COVID-19 pandemic, a challenging time but stimulating time in her career. During this time she used her platform to share her journey, as well as support and educate her community via her instagram signed.drj. Her community has now grown to 41,000 followers.
Dr Omatseye is a strong advocate for mental health, women's health and representation in medicine. She has collaborated with organizations such as World Health Organisations Africa, Moody Month and Arise News, to ensure men and women are educated and feel empowered making decisions when it comes to their health through educational videos and discussions.
She is the founder of ARA NINI Health, a new initiative that aims to create safe spaces for women to learn and discuss their health. She recently launched this in Lagos Nigeria with over 100 women present. She is also co-founder for Chasing Your Truth that aims to connect, inspire and support women in the healthcare field in all aspects of their lives.
Dr Omatseye is part of the NHS clinical entrepreneurship program, her work/research has been published in respected medical journals and while at Imperial Business school she won the Deans Community Prize alongside her colleagues.
She has strong interests in health education, digital health, public health and her ultimate drive is to help to reduce inequalities and improve access & quality of healthcare globally.
Hannah Nazri | Academic Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology | NHS
Dr Hannah Nazri is an NIHR-funded Academic Clinical Fellow and specialty trainee doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the University of Warwick.
She graduated with a medical degree from the University of Bristol in 2013 with an intercalated BSc in Medical Physics & Bioengineering from the University College London in 2010 before completing an MSc in Clinical Embryology in 2016 followed by a DPhil in endometriosis research at the University of Oxford in 2021. As a finalist of the 2020 Women of the Future Award UK for the Commonwealth Category, she is committed to combining her obstetrics and gynaecology career with non-profit work not limited to youth education and women’s rights advocacy; as the Founding Director of the Malaysian Doctors for Women & Children and the Equality Lead for Europe for the Royal Commonwealth Society. She is also a Board member of the Boston Congress of Public Health, and columnist of its journal, HPHR (previously the Harvard Public Health Review by Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health).
Zinet Kemal | Cloud Security Engineer | BestBuy
Zinet Kemal is an accomplished professional who has achieved great success in multiple fields.
An immigrant, mother of 4, successful career changer from the legal field, Zinet is a multi-award-winning cybersecurity practitioner and award-winning children’s book author, speaker, and community outreach leader. She is currently a Cloud Security Engineer for a Fortune 500 organization and a Board Director of a non-profit organization, Black Girls in Cyber, which aims to increase the representation of women of color in entry-level Cybersecurity, Privacy, and STEM careers.
With degrees in Computer Science and Law, Zinet is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Georgia Tech University. Her passion for technology and education is reflected in her work, which includes the publication of two award-winning children’s books. “Proud in Her Hijab” teaches girls empowerment and inclusivity, while “Oh, No … Hacked Again!” educates kids on online safety and inspires young readers, especially girls, to consider cybersecurity as a meaningful and exciting career option. Her next book on cyber careers for next generation releases in 2023.
Zinet’s work to close the diversity gap in the cybersecurity industry has earned her recognition and accolades. She was recently named the 2023 Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal 40 under 40, Ivan Allen Jr. Legacy Award honoree, 2022 SC Media Women in IT Security Cyber Advocate, 2022 CyberScoop Most Inspiring Up and Comer, and 2021 Team Women’s WaveMakers Award – Uncharted Territory Honoree, she has also been featured in media outlets such as Good Morning America, 11Alive, and CBS Minnesota – WCCO.
