Needless to say, it is thanks to them that I am here today!
Rosie Nutt | Corporate Liability Restructuring Manager | PwC
I began my career at PwC as a summer intern while at university, before joining full-time in the insurance audit team.

My role has spanned both sell-side deal advisory and distressed restructuring. I have worked closely with clients on insurance business transfers, portfolio disposals, and broader restructuring strategies. Through this, I have developed deep expertise in navigating complex regulatory and commercial challenges, helping clients achieve their strategic.

I pride myself on being a hard worker and a team player, which helps my immediate colleagues achieve great results with our brokers where I consistently deliver a high level of service, building trust based long term relationships internally and externally. My positivity and enthusiasm help to create a healthy and productive working environment for all. I seek out new challenges and see this as an opportunity to learn, develop and grow not only as an individual, but also as a team. This leads to improved performance as I continually learn how to adapt to change, which showcases my hunger, appetite, and desire to be both flexible and proactive in my approach. Prior to insurance, I worked as a Customer Service Assistant at Asda for 3.5 years whilst studying Mathematics at the University of Kent, where I achieved a First-Class BSc Honours Degree. Stephanie Kovatchev | Claims Operations Manager | The Hartford
I started my career in insurance in France 15 years ago, as an Underwriter.
I moved to Internal Audit after 4 years, and relocated to the UK a year after that. I thoroughly enjoyed all my claims audits, and realized that I was craving a 'first line of defense' experience, which is why I moved to a Claims Operations role. Since then I have held various roles in claims operations and market change. The commonality to all these positions is my drive for improving processes, 'fixing what is broken'. Outside of my day job, I also started involving myself more and more in DEI activities at the start of 2020. This led to me becoming the Chair of the Disability & Neurodiversity Network at my previous company. I am now a very active member of the DEI Council at The Hartford, and I was also asked by my CEO to join the Associate Board of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) last year. I recently got elected as their Company Secretary. I have driven many DEI initiatives since joining The Hartford, the main one, which I am extremely proud of, being the launch of a sponsorship for the GB Wheelchair Rugby Team, on their path to the Paralympics in LA in 2028. I even worked with my colleagues across the pond on this sponsorship, which is something that had never been done before in the DEI space.

Anshuman Bhalla | Technology Risk Manager | RSA Insurance Group
Since a very young age, I was very passionate about making my career within Technology space and grow as a career driven women in STEM.
This passion led me to become a Computer Science Engineer and pursue Masters in Business administration with information Security specialisation. I started exploring more on the Data and regulatory compliance domains which are equally important parts of the Tech world. I led projects of worth 1m there and got promoted to Manager level in a short span of 1.5 years. Sachini Yapa | Senior Project Manager | QBE Insurance
I am a results-driven individual with a background in software engineering, most recently leading a large-scale transformation initiative.
I have explored different roles, from Business Analyst to Service Delivery Lead, and I have found that anywhere I get to interact (and hopefully inspire) a team is where I do best. Moving from New Zealand to London was a bold step in expanding my career, and QBE offered me the perfect platform. As an Application Delivery Lead, I managed the delivery and maintenance of critical information management systems for over 1,000 users. Seeking new challenges, I was honoured to take the lead on a major transformation project for QBE: the delivery of Lloyd's Blueprint Two. Thriving in a fast-paced environment is energising, but it's just as important to recognise when to recharge to be your best self and continue serving others. I strive to role model this via wellbeing initiatives at work. I've recognised that it's easier to make a lasting difference when working with like-minded people. In 2008, I founded the Auckland Young Professionals network for The Institution of Engineering and Technology and continue to volunteer today, with the goal of nurturing STEM talent pipelines. Whether leading transformation projects, mentoring emerging professionals, or promoting mental wellbeing, I aim to make a meaningful impact in all that I do, bringing positive energy to those around me.
Lesley Townsend | Customer Success Manager | Guidewire
I have had a varied and progressive career so far! After gaining my BA (Hons) in Hotel and Catering Administration, I naturally migrated to the world of Insurance Broking.
Starting out as an Account Handler/Executive in my home of Cumbria, I moved to London and worked in similar roles for Tysers and then Miller. I carried out various roles in Miller, progressing to Operations Manager and then taking a sideways move to Product Owner in the IT unit. I stepped away from Miller for a short period to work as a Household Underwriter for Hiscox. This provided me with the experience of working for both a Broker and an Insurer, gaining valuable insights into both worlds. After nearly 30 years in Insurance Broking, I moved to Guidewire Software as a Customer Success Manager. I have been here for 18 months now and am proud to use my knowledge of the Insurance Broking world, specifically London Market Broking. It's almost a full circle moment for me as I have also returned to my hospitality roots, ensuring our customers are well taken care of and looked after. I'm actually wondering if I might be better for a "Rising From The Ashes" award! - I took a leap of faith at the age of 54 to change career after feeling I was stagnating. I am now thriving and never been happier. I am both simultaneously learning and imparting knowledge / experience every day - it is extremely energising!
Mackenzie Saitch | Senior Associate - Corporate Liability Restructuring | PwC
I joined PwC's Insurance Liability Restructuring team in September 2020, following my A-levels.
Knowing I would be joining a huge firm at 18 was daunting, but I was excited to start work in the City, following in my Dad's footsteps. However, as the country entered its second lockdown, my school friends headed off to university and I began working from home. It wasn't until a year later I could return to the office and learn some normality. I began working on a Gibraltar-based insurance insolvency and learnt a lot about the intricacies of insolvencies. After working on various insolvency and advisory jobs, I started working on two large insurance insolvencies (c.2bn liabilities), where I began developing my technical claims expertise, particularly in industrial and disease claims. This also led to me developing strong project management skills, coordinating the work completed by both internal and external stakeholders, managing the workloads of junior team members and directors to ensure deadlines are met. I now leverage my strong claims knowledge to feed into a wider claims strategy. As well as my day-to-day job, I drive a number of team efforts - leading my peer group, organising team events and founding and organising our Women in Insurance events. Its extremely important to me that the team is happy, as after losing my Dad at 21, the team showed so much care and love towards me and I want to ensure I can provide the same for those in the team who may need it.
