I never thought I’d end up in a career in finance.
At an early age, I thought I was bad at math, bad at anything that touched numbers. I even failed my second grade stock market investing simulation game. That world wasn’t for me.
But journalism was – I loved uncovering and telling stories that mattered. I studied media at the University of Virginia, and interned at MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
It wasn’t until I interned at Bloomberg that I learned the powerful impact of financial data. Data tell a story and unveil a truth about the world that most people overlook. There’s beauty in the numbers that I wish I had understood at a younger age. It’s what drives me now: making up for lost time, and making sure no one else losses out.
After reporting on markets, hedge funds and investment strategies for Bloomberg News, I moved to Bloomberg TV. First as a markets correspondent. Now I host our morning program “Daybreak Europe” along with regular appearances throughout European and U.S. programming.
I still cover market moving news and interviews leaders in asset management, private capital, policymakers, and corporate executives. High profile interviews include ECB council members and CEOs at Europe’s largest companies such as Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Unilever, Heineken, Renault and more.
I’ve broken exclusive stories on multi-billion dollar funds and companies, and was recognized by the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing for the 2018 Larry Birger Young Business Journalist Award.
