Emma Letheren

I joined RBC on their graduate scheme after studying Economics at the University of Nottingham.

After nine months on Equity Sales I moved into the Consumer Staples team in Equity Research. I was able to keep spending time with clients, which I love, but also develop my accounting and valuation skills and get a better insight into a specific sector. I feel very lucky that the move was into Consumer Staples – a tangible and relatable sector as we all consume food, beverages and personal care items. My career has enabled me to spend my days conversing with interesting and incredibly intelligent people about how the world will evolve (including the CEOs and CFOs of some of the biggest companies in the world!). The role has also afforded me the opportunity to fly to many interesting places such as Mumbai and Mexico City to understand the consumer in these markets.

Alongside my role in Equity Research, I am the Secretary Officer at RWomen, an Employee Resource Group at RBC focused on championing D&I through events, personal development and charity opportunities for employees. Within this role I focus on driving impact of the committee which is set up with various sub-teams (Membership, Communications, Events, Internal Cultural Change). I bring all of those teams together and develop resources to help us collaborate in the most effective way.
