I have been in the EA/PA profession for almost all of my career starting as a clerical assistant with BT working in Customer Services and Billing when I left school.
I applied for a PA role when Openreach was created in 2006 and provided secretarial support to the leadership team for around 10 years.
As part of my personal development, I took on a lead role to manage the graduate programme where I was responsible for guiding new recruits through their leadership development journey which gave me the opportunity to build and develop my own authentic leadership style.
After leaving BT, I joined PwC as a virtual assistant and quickly built strong relationships with my peers and colleagues who now trust me for advice, mentoring and guidance about the role.
As a PA, I work virtually providing professional and proactive support to the company Partners and Directors, with responsibility for managing my own workload, acting with autonomy and using my initiative to provide an enhanced PwC experience internally and for clients.
Since joining PwC, I have continued to build my understanding of the business and culture of the company whilst learning new ways of working. Whilst working in PwC, I have taken full advantage of the opportunity to get involved in projects where I can leverage my strengths as well as learn new skills.
In 2020 I led a team of PA’s to design and deliver a virtual digital summit, creating an environment and space where my team were empowered to be creative and curious, expanding their knowledge and stretching themselves further than they believed possible to achieve incredible results.
Leading the team I ensured my team understood what was expected of them and were fully engaged in delivering the best possible outcomes.
