Julia Robertson-Avenell

I am a Cancer Research volunteer who is dedicated to increasing the sales revenue of our local shop.

By researching items that I believe could be valuable, I am able to display them at a higher price, thereby increasing overall takings.

Volunteering has given me the opportunity to work with a truly diverse work/volunteer force, and has enabled me to become more confident in myself.

I am Co-Founder of the Essex PA Network. This was founded back in 2016 when I was then in a PA role. I am still involved in this network as I feel it is extremely important to develop and support people where you can.

During lockdown, I was a Befriender for MIND/Age UK, where I used to telephone a gentlemen each week to ensure he has human contact, and that Age UK could be assured that he was ok.

My fulltime role is of a Senior Relationship Manager.

In this role I support c.200 pharmaceutical workers. Assisting them with contract queries, payment queries and role queries.

I absolutely love this role. It’s connected me with some incredible people, doing incredible things in the pharmaceutical research sector.

I am also a Mental Health First Aider and Wellbeing Ambassador. During lockdown 2 I studied and achieved TQUK in MH Awareness.

I believe that you can only become a better/more rounded person by continually educating yourself in something that is important to you. Which is why I will continue to study mental health and continue to make changes in the company I am in.
