Focus on the pipeline is integral to growing women into senior management roles. I am a huge advocate of women on boards but I’d like to see targets placed where they will have huge impact and that is at the middle management layer. Let’s address the problem at its root. The We Are The City awards recognises women who are in the layer that we need to support. It is a wonderful mechanism to push women forward but also a starting point to focus on sustainable change.
