Joanne Monck OBE | Director of Global Education and EDI for BelieveGlobalCIC.

Joanne-MonckDavid was born in 1955. At the time of his birth, an imaginary tree was planted. Over the years it would grow, its trunk and its branches shaping his strengths, personality, and characteristics.

However the roots of that tree were never his. They belonged to Joanne who for the next 58 years would flood him with her thoughts, emotions and desires until he released her from the body she was imprisoned in. David spent his entire life trying to validate his masculinity.  He was bullied at school and had a nervous breakdown in young adulthood. In 2014 after contemplating suicide, he had to release Joanne .

Free from his body, Joanne became passionate about supporting the rights of the transgender and other diverse and minority communities.  In 2017 she became legally female after gender reassignment surgery.

She became an independent schools role model, an independent advisor to Sussex police and the crown prosecution service,  and EID advisor to the bluebell heritage railway.  In 2020 she was the recipient of a chief constables commendation and a winner in the diversity category for WeAreTheCity Rising Stars. In 2021, she was awarded an OBE by our late queen for services to transgender equality.

Now she is an ambassador and consultant to three national and one international organisations. She speaks all over the world about her life and equality in the workplace. She was featured on ITV news as a community champion and is a new face on ITV this morning.

Her motto..

Believe to achieve

Believe in your abilities and destiny in order to achieve happiness and success
