As Managing Director, SME Relationships, Sam is a customer-obsessed, delivery-focused leader who is passionate about growing individuals and SMEs to reach their full potential.Within Business Banking, Sam leads a team of 600 Relationship Directors across all UK geographies and a range of key industries and is ensuring that Barclays Business Banking is the Partner for Growth for our customers, client KBIs and intermediaries.
Sam’s natural energy, drive and great collaboration & communication skills were instrumental in her leadership of over 7,000 colleagues across 5 countries in UK Retail Bank. This combined with the now laser-like focus on Business Banking customers, means that with the backdrop of digitisation and automation, Sam is ensuring that the customer remains at the heart of every process and interaction with Barclays.
With over 25 years in financial services, Sam utilises her in-depth knowledge across operations, customer service, fraud, transformation, customer experience, propositions and design to be a thought leader and strategic business growth driver across the industry.
In addition to Sam’s executive responsibilities within Barclays Business Banking, she is a Board Director of Propel Asset Finance Ltd and a Non-Executive Director for Barclays Insurance Ltd and Barclays Security Trustees Limited. As a dedicated advocate of inclusion, Sam also co-chairs the WIN UK Network (Gender Employee Resource Group) and also sits on the Barclays Group Gender Steerco.
