Toby’s career began in the earliest days of the UK’s Royal Navy first allowing women to serve at sea in front line roles. After considerable operational leadership experience in the Navy, and an MBA at Bayes (formerly Cass) Business School, he has since consulted to the private equity investment market for more than 15 years. Starting in corporate finance at Deloitte in London, he subsequently specialised in executive search. He is a Trustee of the naval charity, the White Ensign Association, and a Consultant to the global, gender balance (and generational balance) consultancy, 20-first.
His strong personal interest in gender balance was probably ignited by his mother’s successful executive career in the second half of the 20th Century and is certainly enhanced by his working wife and two school-aged daughters.
