My name is Renee Cherniwchan. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a welder. Even before I ever held a stinger in my hands, I knew that’s what I wanted to do. After a quick crash course at NAIT to lean the very minimal basics, I got my Apprenticeship blue book at the age of 19. It was a tough go at the beginning of my career, but luckily, I was tougher. After finding my place in the industry along side some of the most experienced, knowledgable and thankfully, patient people, I became an Alberta certified Journeyman in November 2007 at the age of 23.
