I am from Portugal, where I qualified as a lawyer and worked for seven years as an in-house counsel of a multinational company in the cement industry. I always believed, however, that studying and working in a more globally connected country such as the UK would broaden my identity as a professional and as a person. In 2012 I moved to London to specialise in insurance law and pursue a long-lasting career in this world-class industry.
This was a demanding personal project that involved a huge financial and professional investment: I had to save to pay the tuition fees and live in London as a student for one year, while embracing the uncertainty of taking a different career path in a new country. My driver was the prospect of working in the field that I was passionate about.
In 2014, I was thrilled to join the FINPRO product development team at Marsh, which allowed me to combine my wide-ranging legal skills and my extensive technical knowledge of insurance contract law. Shortly after, I was also appointed as a management liability client executive to major accounts, and became a dedicated resource to creating tailored client-solutions for complex coverage issues. I could not be prouder.
Outside of work, I dedicate my time to different projects. Currently I am a member of Marsh´s Women’s Exchange committee that focuses in gender equality issues, of which I am a strong advocate. I am an avid traveller and I thoroughly enjoy planning trips to different parts of the globe as often as I can. I also practise bodyboard and yoga, which are sports that help me reconnect with nature. My other passion is cooking; I can stay for hours in the kitchen creating dishes and playing with tastes and recipes.
