Therese is responsible for undertaking rigorous analysis on the financial implications of ESG factors for specific stocks as well as on a sector/industry basis.

She supports and leads company engagements and voting, with a particular focus on labour rights, human rights and diversity and inclusion. She also chaired the 30% Club UK Investor Group’s Race Equity Workstream.

Prior to joining Sarasin & Partners in 2019, Therese worked as a Senior Research Analyst at Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS), a provider of governance and responsible investment solutions to the financial community. Prior to ISS, she worked at ShareAction, a UK organisation that promotes responsible investment. Therese has also previously worked as Senior Manager, Pensions and Insurance, Group Market Risk at Lloyds Banking Group. As a senior risk professional and actuary, she had independent oversight of key market risks including equity risk, interest rate risk, inflation risk and foreign exchange risk arising from the Group’s Insurance and Employee Pension Schemes.

She holds an MSc in Corporate Governance and Business Ethics from University of London, a BMath in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo, Canada and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).
