Emma Fay | GSK
I am a hardworking, conscientious and self-motivated individual, passionate about enhancing communication between the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector, ultimately improving outcomes for patients.
Throughout my six years’ experience at GSK I have developed my communication, interpersonal, strategic and influencing skills. My passion for developing a career in the pharmaceutical industry was born out of my time at the University of Sheffield, studying an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science.
Since joining GSK, I have held a number of roles across the business. I first began in sales, working across Respiratory and Dermatology departments, this experience gave me an excellent understanding of how to operate effectively as a sales person whilst navigating the complexities of the NHS. It also helped me to learn about the key drivers, policies and routes to the health care landscape that were required to ensure consistent delivery beyond my sales targets which lead to me moving from an agency to securing a permanent role at GSK.
Most recently I have transitioned to working in respiratory market access marketing. This experience has provided me with an opportunity to challenge and change the way GSK communicates with healthcare/policy leaders, in order to drive changes at a population level, improve ways of working between the pharmaceutical industry and the NHS and most importantly improving patients access to medicines.
Sandra Hadaie | Kadmos Consultants

Prior to this, I orchestrated Jusoor’s annual conference and fundraising gala dinner that raised £250,000 to support young Syrians unlock educational opportunities.
I worked with a top tier bank on a consulting project whereby I tackled issues in the insurance industry affecting the company and developed innovative and creative solutions for the company to stay ahead of its competitors.
I also worked for Microsoft as the social media administrator to the Microsoft student partners program.
Lastly, I did two internships at the United Nations, one at UNHCR and one with UNRWA. I always try to learn something new and improve myself to be distinguished among my colleagues.
Erica Mills | British Army
After Commissioning in December 2012 I joined the Royal Artillery where I started as a Troop Commander in charge of 63 soldiers of varying ranks.
From there I deployed to Afghanistan as an executive assistant to a high ranking officer who was in an advisory and stabilisation role. On return from this deployment I worked as the Officer Commanding of the Royal Artillery recruitment team and then went on to complete my Fire Support Team Commander's tour, deploying to Canada for live firing training.
In June 2018 I was awarded a 12 month career intermission where I took some time to decide if the Army was a long term career choice for me and in that time solo travelled South East Asia and Australia, working in Singapore as a Bootcamp Manager and Personal Trainer for the last 5 months of my career intermission. Since returning to the Army in June 2019 I have been working as an assessor at the Army Officer Selection Board, assessing and selecting Army officers of the future.
Throughout my career I have played rugby for the Army and the UK Armed Forces, whilst also playing for Premiership teams in the form of Wasps and currently Gloucester-Hartpury.
Emily Johnson | LVK
Never afraid of a challenge, most of my roles I have entered have been new roles, or roles within start-ups, or both!
I began my career after two PR internships, working as a Communications Director for a start-up digital media agency in Yorkshire straight after university. With a creative application 18 months later, using a website, video, and a press release called ‘Keep Calm and Hire Emily’ I succeeded in landing a role in a large communications agency called drp in London, as a PR and Social Media Executive, working both in-house and with clients, such as BT. With a love for content, social, and digital – I decided to move more into this sphere and began a role at a 100-year-old architect firm that had never had a marketing team, a functioning website, or any social media prior to me joining. It was a fantastic chance to bring their marketing and company into the 21st century, and I spoke about my time here at Campaign Magazine Brand Forum in July 2018. Headhunted, I spent 18 months in a social and digital marketing role at a large design group Allect, but during this time I began my own project Arthritis Foodie in my spare time – bringing together my health condition and my love for food. Arthritis Foodie brought me closer to the FMCG world and I decided to align my passion with my career, leading me to LVK. At LVK I look after health and wellness brands that care about both people and the planet.

Louise Littlefair | GSK
I started at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) after graduating from the University of Aberdeen with a first-class degree in Biochemistry.
I decided to move from science into business after completing an amazing summer internship with GSK though the Saltire Foundation. My first job was business planning co-ordinator within the global manufacturing and supply team, this gave me great insight into supply chain at GSK and gave me breadth of experience. From here, I moved into supply chain procurement, buying a range of materials for our manufacturing sites, from colours and dyes to mint oils. This was a fantastic experience and the global nature of the role incentivised me to gain work experience outside of the UK. In 2018, I applied for the GSK PULSE programme which offers employees to take a 6-month work assignment at a NGO/charity to do skills based volunteering. I moved to Tanzania to work for Amref Health Africa, working with them to improve their procurement process. After returning to GSK, I was ready for my next role and was successful in securing a role in the audit and assurance team as an audit manager looking at supply continuity. Throughout the 6 years I have worked at GSK, I have always been lucky to work with and be mentored by successful women leaders. As I have progressed through my career, I have been keen to give back by mentoring internally at GSK and actively participating in external mentoring programmes.
